I’m notoriously terrible at talking about myself, so here’s a brief account of how I came to this point in life.
I was excellent in school, very bright, but never applied myself. Eventually I went to college and received a degree in graphic design from Full Sail University, followed by a brief hiatus, and then after five years at Old Dominion University, I finished my BA in studio arts and a BS in psychology. I minored in Japanese language and culture. It was the best time of my life, despite crying over REALLY annoying statistics and formal APA style multi-page papers. However, I still want to finish my master of education degree and get into school counseling to be there for a kid who needs it, mostly because no one was there for me.
I got into graphic design and web dev around age 15 during the AOL years and Web 1.0. I made a ton of money doing band profiles on MySpace (ha!) and my love for web development fell to the wayside as Web 2.0 and so many new technologies came out. I still love designing and making art, which is why I create digital scrapbooking supplies in my spare time. I noticed a huge growth in the community in 2011-2012, and by 2013 I’d sold my very first kit! Very exciting stuff 🙂
I don’t have any children, nor do I plan to, but I photograph some of the amazing friends and family in my life. I’m grateful for the strength and support they give me every day!
When I’m not designing, I play Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, which is the latest version of the Final Fantasy MMO series. (I played FFXI for about 10 years!). I’m also an avid Sims 4 player and build my own gaming rigs to suit my needs for work and play.
